Young came back to Los Angeles where she landed the roles of Cathy Metsker, Mel Gibson Madeleine Stowe & Greg Kinnear's We Were Soldiers; and Rachel for JJ Abrams Mission Impossible: 3 with Tom Cruise & Keri russe. She has also produced several independent films including The Freebie with Dax Shepard with Joshua Leonard and A Country Remedy which features Joshua Leonard. Both were filmed on location in North Carolina. Young has released Far Away So Close in iTunes' iTunes store on 15 May 2015. In 2016 she starred in the crime-drama film The Night Stalker directed by Megan Griffiths about the serial murderer Richard Ramirez. The following year she had a supporting role in the independent comedy film Bernard and Huey opposite Jim Rash and David Koechner. The live-action Disney adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, with Oprah Winfrey Reese Witherspoon Mindy Kaing and Reese Witherspoon in the year 2018, was her debut significant role.
